Ευγνώμονες για τη γενναιοδωρία της Κοινότητας

Για άλλη μια φορά, η γενναιοδωρία της Κοινότητας Μυκόνου είναι εμφανής μέσα από τις δωρεές που έλαβε πρόσφατα ο Σύλλογος Καρκινοπαθών.
Ο Σύλλογος Καρκινοπαθών Μυκόνου θα ήθελε να εκφράσει την ευγνωμοσύνη του σε ιδιώτες και φορείς που έκαναν δωρεές αυτό το μήνα. Η οικονομική αυτή στήριξη απευθύνεται στους φίλους και τους γείτονές μας που δίνουν μάχη με τον καρκίνο. Αγοράζονται αεροπορικά ή ακτοπλοϊκά εισιτήρια για όσους πρέπει να ταξιδέψουν στην Αθήνα για τη θεραπεία τους και για όσους δεν έχουν δικό τους κατάλυμα στην Αθήνα γίνονται διευθετήσεις μέσω ακινήτων AirBnB ή ξενοδοχείων που βρίσκονται πλησιέστερα στο σημείο όπου θα χορηγηθεί η θεραπεία.
Τον Μάιο, η γενναιοδωρία είχε ως εξής:
1500 ευρώ DEYAM
500 ευρώ Εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα
500 ευρώ εις μνήμην
ΔΕΥΑΜ (Δημοτική Υπηρεσία Ύδρευσης και Αποχέτευσης Μυκόνου) 1500 ευρώ
Στη μνήμη του Μιχάλη Αποστόλου 500 ευρώ συνολικά από
Rich και Liz Stern, Kate Waldron και Kathy και Zanis Vasilas
500 ευρώ από ένα εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα που διεξήχθη από τον Ιανουάριο έως τον Μάιο με πρωτοβουλία των εκπαιδευτικών Μαρίας Θεοχάρη και Μαρίας Τσουκαλά.
«Δημιουργήσαμε ένα εθελοντικό πρόγραμμα για παιδιά προσχολικής ηλικίας 5 ετών. Κάθε Σάββατο συναντιόμασταν στο Επαγγελματικό Λύκειο Μυκόνου με την άδεια του δήμου. Τα παιδιά παρακολουθούσαν από τον Ιανουάριο μέχρι τον Μάιο. Έκαναν ασκήσεις προσχολικής αγωγής, διάβαζαν παραμύθια και χρησιμοποιούσαν το τραγούδι ως μέρος της διαδικασίας. Οι γονείς των οποίων τα παιδιά συμμετείχαν στο πρόγραμμα, αν και δωρεάν, θέλησαν να δημιουργήσουν ένα ταμείο που θα διατεθεί στον Σύλλογο Καρκινοπαθών για να τιμήσουν αυτή την προσπάθεια. Ως παιδαγωγοί και φιλόλογοι, ως μητέρες νηπίων προσφέραμε αυτό το πιλοτικό πρόγραμμα στο νησί με μεγάλη χαρά».
Grateful for Community’s Generosity
Once again, the generosity of the Mykonos Community is evident through the donations received recently by the Cancer Association.
The Mykonos Cancer Association would like to express its gratitude to individuals and entities that made donations this month. This financial support is extended to our friends and neighbors who are fighting cancer. Air or boat tickets are purchased for those who must travel to Athens for their therapy and for those who do not have their own accommodation in Athens arrangements are made through AirBnB properties or hotels closest to where treatment will be administered.

500 Euros from and educational project that ran from January through May initiated by educators Maria Theocharis and Maria Tsoukalas.
The educators commented about the program that generated 500 Euros in donations:
“We created a voluntary program for children of preschools that were 5 years old. Every Saturday we met at Mykonos’ Vocational High School with the permission of the municipality. Children attended from January through May. They practiced preschool exercises, read fairy tales and used song as part of the process. The parents whose children participated in the program, although free, wanted to create a fund to be donated to the Cancer Association to honor this effort. As educators and philologists, as mothers of kindergarteners we offered this pilot program to the island with great pleasure.”
